40 pilots, 3 airplanes, 66 years of flying

Into the Sunset (Bill Rands)

In June of 2021 we lost a great friend and member of the club.  Bill was an active pilot, always part of the board and a mentor to all.  Bill was one of those guys that didn’t let the grass grow under his feet.  He owned his own plane but still loved being part of our community of pilots in the Warren Flying Club.  His contributions to the aviation community are his legacy and live on in all our memories.

The Warren Flying Club was founded at the Detroit City Airport in 1956. The purpose of the club is to provide safe and economical aircraft to area pilots. We have 40 equity members who share ownership of two Cessna Skyhawks and one Cessna Skylane.

Today, the Warren Flying Club is based at the Oakland / Troy Airport (KVLL). We are a volunteer organization, managed by our members. Through the participation and dedication of our fellow owners, we remain committed to maintaining our aircraft and promoting safety in general aviation.
